ABOUT ETHOS ARCHITECTS:

Ethos Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm with offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Local by Design, Ethos brings decades of experience, strong community connections, and a collaborative approach to creating spaces that make a lasting impact. From schools and libraries to civic, nonprofit, healthcare, and commercial environments, the firm is committed to thoughtful design that responds to the people and communities it serves across Oklahoma.

ABOUT RUDISILL LIBRARY:

Ethos Architects has partnered with Tulsa City-County Library on systemwide facility assessments, master planning, and the design of multiple libraries throughout the Tulsa region. One of the first projects to emerge from this partnership is the recently completed Freddie Rudisill Regional Library in Tulsa's historic Greenwood District. Designed as more than a traditional library, the new facility celebrates the community's rich history and culture while creating welcoming spaces for learning, creativity, and connection.

During this Design Insider event, representatives from Ethos Architects and Tulsa City-County Library will share the story behind the project, from the strategic decisions that shaped the building's location, size, and design to the cultural and community priorities that influenced its development, including the importance of Greenwood's history and the library's expanded genealogy and African American history resources.

The new library features:

  • BOK Harmony Hall, a premier event space for community gatherings, meetings and special events.

  • The African American Resource Center has doubled in size and is the only resource center of its kind in Oklahoma featuring materials documenting and celebrating the history and culture of African Americans.

  • The Sanford & Irene Burnstein Family Foundation Genealogy Center, bringing genealogy resources back to North Tulsa and providing opportunities for customers to explore their family histories.

  • A Maker Space, featuring an audio lab, soundproof recording studio, musical instruments and other tools for hands-on creativity.

  • A destination children’s area featuring the Jeanne B. Goodwin Storytime Room and double the space.

  • Expanded meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, study areas, computers, outdoor patios and flexible spaces for customers of all ages, and a gift shop.
